Qhome Saigon: Luxury Living in Ho Chi Minh City's Hottest Spot!
Qhome Saigon: Luxury… With a Few Quirks! (A Review From Yours Truly)
Alright, buckle up buttercups, because I'm about to spill the tea on Qhome Saigon. They’re calling it "luxury living in Ho Chi Minh City's hottest spot," and, well, they ain't entirely wrong. But luxury, as we all know, comes with its own brand of… let's call them "interesting" quirks.

Meta Description: A brutally honest review of Qhome Saigon! Discover the highs (the stunning pool!) and the… well, let's just say "unique" moments of this Ho Chi Minh City luxury hotel. Get ready for opinions, anecdotes, and maybe a rant or two!
Setting the Scene (Or, My Arrival… And The Great Elevator Mystery)
First impressions? The lobby is… sleek. Like, seriously, aspirational magazine cover material. Marble, giant floral arrangements, the works. They've definitely nailed the "luxury" aesthetic. But, and this is a big "but," getting to the lobby with my luggage felt like a quest.
Accessibility: (The First Hurdle)
Right, let's talk about Accessibility from the get-go. They say they’re friendly. They claim they're ready. And while they do offer Facilities for disabled guests, it’s a case of “proceed with caution.” The Elevator situation was a bit of a saga. Sometimes it would whiz up, other times it… wouldn't. This wasn't just me being impatient, it was genuinely sporadic functioning. I saw a few folks struggle, and honestly, it made me nervous. So check for that elevator situation and be prepared to call them at the front-desk. Be prepared for a bit of a wait, and a prayer…
The Room: Where Luxury Met My Hangry Stomach
The room? Yeah, it was gorgeous. Seriously. Massive windows, that Extra long bed that basically swallowed me whole (bliss!), and a bathroom that could double as a photo studio. Seriously, the bathroom phone was a nice touch. It was like living in a movie set!
Let's talk Internet. Free Wi-Fi in all rooms, and the Internet was generally zippy (because I needed it to be for work). I’ll also note the Internet access - LAN which is great if you prefer that.
Now, the Mini bar – stocked, but with prices that suggested they knew I’d be desperate at 3 AM. And speaking of desperation… the Breakfast in room option was tempting. I ordered it once. Waited… and waited… and then realized it was probably easier to get out of bed and hunt for food.
Dining, Drinking, and Snacking: A Rollercoaster of Flavors (and Service)
Onto one of the most important departments, food!
Restaurants: The Restaurants (yes, plural!) were trying very hard. There's the main restaurant offering both Asian cuisine in restaurant and International cuisine in restaurant, and then the Coffee shop for a quick caffeine hit. The Happy hour at the Bar was a lifesaver, especially after battling the elevator again. They had some nice offerings of Salad in restaurant, Soup in restaurant, and Desserts in restaurant.
The Breakfast [buffet] offered a pretty standard mix, but the buffet in restaurant with options such as Asian breakfast, Western breakfast, which was okay. But getting a coffee sometimes felt like waiting for the Second Coming. They did have Breakfast takeaway service, which was handy, and a Poolside bar which was lovely when lounging by the Swimming pool [outdoor].
My Verdict: A mixed bag. The food was generally good, but the service could be a bit… slow. And sometimes my order had to re-appear. This is not a bad thing - some of the most memorable travel stories unfold because of service, and this was one of them.
Let's not forget the Room service [24-hour] which was excellent for a late-night snack attack. And the Bottle of water they give you upon check in is always a welcome treat!
Ways to Relax (AKA, When They Actually Delivered on the Luxury Promise)
THIS is where Qhome Saigon really shines. The Pool with view is breathtaking. Seriously, Instagram-worthy. Spending an afternoon there, sipping a cocktail? Pure bliss. Pure luxury. The Gym/fitness (or Fitness center) was well-equipped, and I even managed to sneak a workout in (shocking, I know).
And the Spa/sauna… oh, the spa. I indulged in a massage, and it was heavenly. They also had Body scrub and Body wrap options, if you're feeling extra fancy. The Steamroom, and Foot bath, were all first-rate too.
Cleanliness and Safety: Sanitized… mostly
They clearly take cleanliness seriously, which is a huge plus, especially in these times. Anti-viral cleaning products, Daily disinfection in common areas, and Rooms sanitized between stays are all big ticks in my book. They also had First aid kit in case of emergencies. There was also Hand sanitizer everywhere, and the staff were masked up, which made me feel safe. Note: A Doctor/nurse on call is a great addition.
Services and Conveniences: A Mixed Bag Too!
The Concierge was lovely, helpful, and spoke great English (bonus!). Daily housekeeping was efficient, and the rooms were always spotless. There's also Laundry service and Dry cleaning, which is a godsend if you're traveling light.
However… The Convenience store was pretty bare (don't bank on getting any specific snacks), and the Cash withdrawal option was available as well (always helpful).
For the Kids…
I didn't travel with kids, but they did have Babysitting service and a few Kids facilities.
Getting Around
They offer Airport transfer but, frankly, a Grab car is probably cheaper and easier. They did have Car park [free of charge] and Valet parking, so driving is an option.
The Little Things (That Make a Difference)
- Air conditioning worked perfectly – a must in Saigon!
- Complimentary tea and Coffee/tea maker in the room.
- The Safe/security feature in the room was great for peace of mind.
- The Doorman was consistently helpful (even when the elevator wasn't).
The Not-So-Great Stuff… (The Honest Truth)
- The elevator situation. (I’m not letting this go.)
- The inconsistency of the service in the restaurant.
- The slightly inflated prices on the mini bar.
My Verdict: Worth It? (With Caveats!)
Overall, Qhome Saigon is a lovely hotel. It's undeniably luxurious, the rooms are stunning, and the pool and spa are pure heaven. But the elevator, the occasional service hiccups, and the occasional misdirection, keep it from being PERFECT.
If you're willing to put up with a few minor inconveniences and a bit of a slow pace, and if you value a gorgeous aesthetic and amazing relaxation opportunities, then yes, absolutely book it. But be prepared to embrace the imperfections, and maybe pack some extra snacks!
Final Rating: 4 out of 5 stars! (Because that pool deserves all the stars)
Luxury Getaway: Hanting Hotel Awaits Near Lu'an Railway Station!
Alright, buckle up buttercups, because this ain't your grandma's perfectly-polished travel itinerary. This is Saigon, baby, and we're about to get lost in it. And by "lost," I mean slightly bewildered, wonderfully sweaty, and probably fuelled by copious amounts of iced coffee.
Qhome Saigon - Vo Van Tan, HCMC: The Messy, Real, and Totally Unfiltered Adventure
(A note before we dive in: this is based on a fictional stay, but I'm weaving in real experiences and the feel of Saigon. Get ready!)
Day 1: Saigon Slap in the Face (and I mean that in the best way possible!)
- Morning (8:00 AM -ish): Arrival and the "Oh My God, It's Hot" Moment. Okay, let's be honest. After a flight from [Insert Your Home Country Here - for me, it's probably rainy, grey England], you're going to feel like you've walked into a giant, humid embrace. Passport control was a breeze (phew!), and then… BAM! The sensory overload. Scooters EVERYWHERE. Smells of pho, exhaust fumes, and something deliciously floral (jasmine, maybe?). Grabbed a Grab (like Uber, but for scooters – terrifying but necessary) to Qhome.
- Anecdote: That first scooter ride? My knuckles were white. The driver weaved in and out of traffic like they were born on a bike. I’m pretty sure I saw a family of five perched precariously on a single vehicle. This is how they get the life down here.
- Mid-Morning (9:30 AM): Qhome Love. Check-in at Qhome. The staff were super lovely, even though I arrived looking like a drowned rat. The room is clean, modern, and thankfully, air-conditioned. Huge sigh of relief. Dropped my bags, took a quick shower to wash off the travel grime (also known as "everything I’ve ever accumulated"), and started mentally preparing myself for… well, everything.
- Quirky Observation: The little balcony – perfect for watching the chaos unfold below. I swear, I could spend hours just observing life from here.
- Late Morning/Early Afternoon (11:00 AM): First Pho Fiasco. Okay, so I'm not gonna lie; I was hangry. Found a tiny, unassuming pho stall a few blocks from Qhome. Ordered pho bo (beef pho) and… well, the broth was amazing. Seriously, mind-blowingly good. But! I totally screwed up the chili situation. Doused the whole thing in a fiery red paste. My face was on fire, tears streamed down my face, but I kept eating. Because, you know, priorities.
- Emotional Reaction: Euphoria mixed with agony. The best and worst bowl of pho ever.
- Afternoon (1:00 PM - 3:00 PM): Exploring the Area (and Getting Lost – Mission Accomplished!) Wandered around, armed with a map and a vague sense of direction. Checked out the War Remnants Museum (honestly, emotionally draining, but a MUST-DO). Then, got completely, gloriously lost down a small alleyway. Found a hidden temple, watched some locals playing games, and felt the real pulse of the city.
- Imperfection: Okay, maybe I spent a little too long admiring a particularly shiny motorbike and wandered into a closed-off alleyway. Oops. Google Maps to the rescue!
- Late Afternoon (4:00 PM): Coffee Craving (and the Discovery of Iced Coffee Gold). Vietnamese iced coffee. Need I say more? Found a little cafe with tiny plastic stools and the best ca phe sua da I've ever tasted. Pure, unadulterated caffeine bliss.
- Doubling Down: Sat there, watched the world go by, ordered another one. Then another. Suddenly, the day felt achievable.
- Evening (6:00 PM - 8:00 PM): Dinner and Night Market Glamour. Tried to be adventurous with dinner and stumbled across a street food market. So many choices! Ended up with… well I actually don't remember what I ate. It was delicious though.
- Evening (8:00 PM - 9:00 PM): Night Market. Spent the evening wandering through Ben Thanh Market. It's a total tourist trap, but the energy is electric and perfect for an early dose of culture shock.
Day 2: History, Heartbreak, and Heavenly Food
- Morning (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM): Cu Chi Tunnels (The claustrophobia… it’s real!). Booked a tour to the Cu Chi Tunnels. A sobering experience and an up-close look at the ingenuity and resilience of the Vietnamese people during the war. Crawling through those tunnels? Let’s just say I got a real appreciation for space.
- Stronger Emotional Reaction Respect and awe, but also… claustrophobia. It's a powerful experience but don't force it.
- Lunch (12:00 PM): A Delicious Reward After the tunnels, indulged in a delicious lunch. The local food was just incredible – fresh ingredients and flavour explosions.
- Afternoon (2:00 PM - 5:00 PM): History and Beauty Back in Saigon, visited the Reunification Palace. It's a powerful symbol of the Vietnam war. Then, went to the Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office. The architecture is just stunning.
- Opinionated Language: These places are so much more interesting and important than the fake-European cityscapes in other parts of the city.
- Evening (6:00 PM - onwards): Last Supper and Farewell Went to a stylish restaurant. The perfect end to my two-day whirlwind tour of Saigon.
Day 3: Departure (Sob…)
- Morning (8:00 AM): Woke up. Had one last iced coffee. Wished I had more time.
- Morning (9:00 AM): Check out of Qhome.
- Morning (10:00 AM): Back to the airport, filled with mixed emotions. Sad to leave, but already plotting my return.
Rambling Thoughts and Imperfections:
- The Heat: It’s relentless. Hydrate, people!
- The Traffic: It’s chaotic, but somehow… it works?
- The People: Utterly kind and welcoming, even when you’re a sweaty, bewildered tourist.
- The Language Barrier: It’s there, but a smile and some basic Vietnamese phrases go a long way.
- The "Cleanliness" Factor: It's going to be different from what you're used to – embrace it! Keep an open mind.
Final Verdict: Saigon, you were… overwhelming, delicious, and absolutely unforgettable. I'll be back. And next time, I'm taking a cooking class! And maybe trying to learn how to ride a scooter… (maybe).
